Madeira Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout This version of Black Tuesday spent 18 months developing in madeira barrels. If you've never tried madeira, it's typically sweet, fortified wine from Portugal. The barrel component is apparent as the nose is enveloped with peach notes, followed by dark roast and hints of caramel. The taste experience is similar with a semi-sweetness that highlights bright berry flavors, a strong imperial stout body, finishing with a firm tannic structure.

Thanks to Kai for the share - sweet roasted malty with intense layers of red wine, warming and boosty, cocoa, caramel, dried fruit shred, full bodied, bourbon and lots of red wine oak infused notes coming in, dark sweet warming into the close. Gorgeous.

First beer of Mikkeller Beer Week 2025. Oily, smooth mouthfeel, yet still thinner than you'd expect for the ABV. Strong barrel-aged booze burn upfront. Caramelly malts with subtle dark dried fruits on the backend. Getting lots of port wine throughout.

Big boozy BT variant with a massive woody/oaky/wine nose. Very smooth, rich, bourbon, red wine, tannin, dried fruit/plum. Warm, lots of heat, but drinkable. Probably better off with a Belgian beer for Thanksgiving but damn if this ain’t drinkable 🤷‍♂️

Delicious but totally not resembling stout or even Black Tuesday, it's like a barleywine, and the Madeira really amplifies that with dark fruit, nougat, sherry, delicate warmth, nothing unpleasant as far as bitterness or anything, but relatively balanced.

Real warm booze, real strong viscous stout. I don’t know what a Maderia is but it makes for boozy stout with dark fruit flavors.
