Named after the darkest place on Earth. The Atacama region of Chile is a favorite with astronomers and star gazers. Atacama is sweet black currant mead aged on French Oak. Black as the night sky, the boldest expression of currant in our catalog. Batch 1, 14% ABV Currants from NY State fermented with Saccharomyces and aged on French Oak. Batch 2, 12% ABV a blend of Scottish and NY State currants fermented with blend of Saccharomyces and Non-Saccharomyces strains and French Oak.

Pours a very dark purple color with since legging. The aroma and flavor shows notes of black currants, dark berries, floral honey, and toasted oak. Medium bodied and smooth with a slightly dry, black currant and oak finish. Held up well. Solid stuff.
