Blend of wildberry mead and bourbon barrel-aged barley wine and imperial stout. A caramel-forward braggot that came to life after trying different blends of mead and barrel-aged beer. For this release we ended up blending a wildberry mead with a bourbon barrel-aged barley wine and imperial stout (Golden Tears). The beers added heavy caramel notes, dried fruit and light notes of vanilla to the mead. Making it very barley wine-esque in the flavor profile, while still primarily being a mead. The combination of light roast from the stout and acidity from the fruit, makes the caramel notes from the barley wine feel almost salty and savory. -------------------------- 2022 -------------------------- Honey variety: Wildflower Fruit varieties: Strawberry (Polka) Wild blueberry (bilberries) Aronia Apple (Discovery) Plum (Jubileum) Pear (Celina) The strawberry, wild blueberry and aronia is supported by a blend of apple, plum and pear juice that was used instead of water. *The vintage year shows the harvest year of the ingredients*
