Here I was thinking I was drinking a special beer, a beer Catherine the Great loved drinking in the 1790s. Turns out I've had this exact vintage in 2018 😂. It's very very smooth for a 10% imperial stout. Chocolate and sweet.

I’ve got a few stowed away and it’s already been about 12 years… Chocolate, coffee, smoky finish. A little thinned out but the flavors are holding up well.

12 years since release. jet back with thin head that dies quickly. Aroma is cocoa powder, dark chocolate and some low dark fruit character. Taste is chocolate, tobacco, raisin & underlying savoury/umami note. Savoury finish. thankful I got to try finally

11-12 years since I bought this! Really smooth, not as sweet as I feared. Boozy nose, but not dominant in flavour. Very mellow flavour profile, actually. Chocolate and molasses throughout, body of a good vintage full bodied red wine.
