For the creation of Gulden Draak Smoked, the ancient tradition of drying malt is revisited: smoking the malt. This gave the malt a smoky touch, which was later reflected in the beer as well. This typical smoky flavor was lost over the years as drying techniques for malt became significantly more efficient.
