Solid barleywine w good malt character. More of a brown sugar than true caramel note. Solid body to the base beer. Barrel is fairly mild w smooth bourbon tones that don’t add much sweetness. Light kick of cognac in finish. Some oak spice. Overall solid.

Very good. I've had cognac BW's that are overpowering and way to fruit forward. This is more subtle. Finish is a little weaker than I'd like, but this is damn good BiL.
